On Wednesday, in the City Council, public hearing discussing the resumption of the concept of countryside in the areas of Porto Alegre where there is primary production (Open Field, Gisele Loeblein, ZH), which had been transformed into rururbana zone by Master Plan Environmental Urban Development prepared by PT when administered the city. The city defended the amendment noting that small farmers were scattered dem around the South Zone without the existence of an exclusively rural area. At the time there were complaints of farmers, who would pay the Urban Land Tax (property tax), with much higher dem values than the Rural Land Tax (ITR) who paid, and they got some compensation. Today there are other demands that led the Executive to propose the resumption of the previous concept for the area.
